Dr. Mehdi Asali, the advisor of OPEC, will Lecture in Petroleum and Geopolitics at NCCU.
Master Program of Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies of NCCU collaborated with China Petrochemical Development Co., jointly inviting Dr. Asali as Visiting Professor in 2017 academic year.
Dr. Asali, who equips with academic knowledge and abundant practical experiences, specializes in energy economy, especially in petroleum issues. Beside engaging in Iranian petroleum policy-making, Dr. Asali also participates in the discussions of global oil prices.

Dr. Mehdi Asali’s Brief C.V.
After obtaining the PhD from Durham University, England in 1996, Dr. Asali has served as:
- Director General of Ministry of Petroleum, Iran
- Modelling & Forecasting Analyst, OPEC Secretariat, Austria
- Director of Research Division, Institution for International Energy Studies, Iran
- Advisor to the Iranian Member of OPEC Board of Governors (2016-present)
